Tucked between The Entrance and Toowoon Bay, Blue Bay is a small beach that feels like a private retreat, offering a peaceful escape from the busier tourist spots nearby.
As you arrive, the first thing that catches your eye is the striking colour of the water—a brilliant shade of blue that truly lives up to the bay's name. This vibrant hue is even more captivating when viewed from above, where the water’s translucence reveals the reefs just offshore. I always appreciate how clear and inviting the water looks, making it easy to see the underwater landscape.
The beach itself is a soft stretch of golden sand, perfect for laying out a towel and soaking up the sun. The gentle curve of the bay creates a sheltered spot that’s ideal for swimming, especially for families with young children who can paddle safely in the calm, clear waters.
The area around Blue Bay is also great for a leisurely stroll. You can walk along the shoreline and feel like you have the beach almost to yourself or take a short stroll up the road to find a few local cafes where you can grab a coffee or a bite to eat. I can highly recommend ‘Flour and Co’ on Toowoon Bay Road.
