Just a half-hour drive from Bairnsdale in Gippsland, eastern Victoria, lies the stunning Mitchell River National Park. We accessed the park via Mitchell River Road, a gravel track that led us straight to the jaw-dropping Angusvale campground. Tucked alongside the river, with the park's ranges as a backdrop, camping here felt like our own secluded slice of wilderness.
As the sun dipped low in the evening sky, we were treated to a spectacular sunset that capped off a perfect day. No doubt about it, we'll be making a return trip to soak in more of Mitchell River National Park's untamed beauty.
